Coverage Built
For What You Do.

General liability does not cover professional errors, omissions, or advice. Every licensed professional in Mississippi needs professional liability — also called malpractice or E&O — to protect against claims arising from their specific services.

Common Questions

Professional Liability FAQs.

What is the difference between claims-made and occurrence professional liability?+
A claims-made policy covers claims made during the policy period regardless of when the incident occurred. An occurrence policy covers incidents that occurred during the policy period regardless of when the claim is filed. Claims-made is more common for professional liability — tail coverage extends protection after the policy ends.
What is tail coverage and do I need it?+
Tail coverage (extended reporting period) allows you to report claims after a claims-made policy expires for incidents that occurred while the policy was active. It is critical when switching carriers or retiring. We build tail coverage into every professional liability recommendation.
How much professional liability insurance do I need?+
Most Mississippi licensing boards and professional associations specify minimum limits — typically $1M per claim / $3M aggregate for medical, $500K/$1M for many other professions. Contract requirements often dictate higher limits. We review your specific situation before recommending limits.
